ABOUT THE LIGHTHOUSE SHELTER

The Lighthouse Shelter is a front-line, critical needs care mission for women, mothers and children with an urgent need for food and shelter. Short-term housing, food, clothing and spiritual care will be administered to all who enter. Biblical truths will be taught to those under Lighthouse Shelter care as the sole foundational basis to re-enter society, with a goal toward obedient Christian living and financial self-sufficiency.

OBJECTIVE
Our goal is that every woman and child be heavily influenced by Jesus Christ, such that they will choose to discard their old life and begin a fresh, new life in Christ, which provides freedom, peace and a new way of thinking. The Lighthouse Shelter will plant the successful seeds of Christian living in each person under our care, for starting a long-life of spiritual growth.

THE PROBLEM AND THE NEED
It has been estimated that there are over a thousand women and children in a homeless state of living, or trapped in a highly-abusive environment in Montgomery County, Texas. The nearest Christian care shelter is over 30 miles away, practically unreachable for destitute mothers and children without money or transportation. They are lost and, if not reached, their fate is well known in today's society: crime, hate and ultimately death. The Lighthouse Shelter will catch those in a crisis free-fall to provide a soft-landing and a basis for choosing and establishing a new life... a life in Christ Jesus.

• Incorporated: 2003 as a Texas 501(c)(3) Non-profit org.
• Startup: First half of 2003
• Location: Southeast Montgomery County, TX
• Funding: Individuals, businesses, churches and charities
• Staffing: Full-time, with part-time Christian volunteers

FINANCIAL PLAN
Through annual fundraising from LHS Ministry Partners, The Lighthouse Shelter attempts to raise and escrow one year of operating funds in advance of operations. On property indebtedness, The Lighthouse Shelter accelerates payments to pay off remaining balance. The goal is to operate debt free.

THE CALL TO ACTION
The Lighthouse Shelter will be used by the Lord to save lives that would otherwise be lost - spiritually and physically. The immediate benefactors of this ministry are the hundreds of suffering women and children that are seeking an end to their pain and disoriented lives. They wish to make a choice to start a new life. The secondary benefactors are the supporters of The Lighthouse Shelter who will be rewarded with God's supernatural peace that comes from unselfishly using given resources to help others in severe need.
