WELCOME TO THE LIGHTHOUSE SHELTER!

The Lighthouse Shelter is a non-profit 501(c)(3) short-term emergency shelter (maximum 3 months stay) and Christ-centered, front-line missions organization which provides critical needs care for battered or homeless women with children who are in danger and who have an urgent need for food and temporary shelter. Women are referred to the shelter for short-term care (food, housing, clothing and local transportation) and concealment (from being seen, found, observed or discovered) from abusive or violent husbands, fathers, boyfriends or family.

Over 90% of clients (i.e., women with children, we lovingly call 'clients') are referred to The Lighthouse Shelter by local area churches. We partner with Christian churches to lead women and their children to the saving knowledge and experience of Jesus Christ. Clients are caringly influenced to exchange their old lives and to begin a new life in Christ who provides freedom, peace and a brand new way of thinking. Within each client, The Lighthouse Shelter plants seeds of successful Christian living so they may start life renewed for spiritual growth.

Clients who are in crisis have access to services through our network of volunteer licensed family counselors, attorneys, nurses and physicians. Clients receive intercessory prayer support from our LHS Volunteer Prayer Partners. LHS Ministry Partners provide ongoing financial support and provisions such as food, clothing and financial resources. The facilities are maintained by volunteer maintenance professionals.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Lighthouse Shelter is a front-line, critical needs care mission for women, mothers and their children with an urgent need for food and shelter. Short-term housing, food, clothing and spiritual care will be administered to all who enter. Biblical truths will be taught to those under Lighthouse Shelter care as the sole foundational basis to re-enter society with a goal toward obedient Christian living and financial self-sufficiency.
